Diagnostic and treatment services for TB are provided at the main TB Clinic, located at the Health Services Complex on Rosecrans Street.
Facilities where this Service is offered
Some services, such as tuberculin skin tests (TSTs), chest x-rays (CXRs), and treatment for latent TB infection (LTBI), may also be obtained at Regional Public Health Centers. However, we recommend that patients with insurance see their regular medical provider whenever possible.
Due to schedule changes, only the clinic hours for the Rosecrans Clinic are listed here. Rosecrans Clinic will remain open during lunch hours. Please contact your regional Public Health Center directly to obtain the most current information on clinic hours and services offered.
*Please note that the Rosecrans clinic opens at 10:00 the 1st Tuesday of every month and at 9:00am on all other Tuesdays.
Tuberculin Skin Test (TST)
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 7:30 - 11:30am & 1:00 - 4:00pm
The TST is placed and must be read by a clinician 2-3 days later.
Chest X-Rays
Appointments are recommended call 619-692-5565. X-ray hours are Monday - Friday 8:00am - 11:30 & 1:00 - 4:00pm
Chest x-rays are done when medically indicated for persons who provide documentation of a positive TB skin test, including millimeter reading.
Induced Sputum
Induced sputums for TB can be arranged by appointment only. Physicians (or their staff) should call (619) 692-5565 to make the referral and appointment for their patients.
Treatment of Latent TB Infection (LTBI)

Fees for Services
Fees for services can be obtained by contacting the clinic at the number above. Fees, except as noted below, are based on ability to pay.
Note: TB services are not provided for employer-required purposes for individuals with health insurance. Insured individuals should visit their doctor or a community health center.
TB testing services required as part of an adjustment of immigration status will no longer be provided. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) provides a listing of qualified Civil Surgeons to conduct these evaluations. Adjustment of status applicants should obtain required TB services from their Civil Surgeon provider.
