Juvenile Diversion

For more information send us an email or phone 619-338-2799

The Juvenile Diversion Program, a program of the Community Action Partnership (CAP), enables eligible youth, including at risk and high-risk youth, to prevent entry or re-entry into the juvenile justice system. The service target population is youth from 12 to 17 years of age.

The Juvenile Diversion program provides services to youth who demonstrate behaviors typically associated with delinquency and which are likely to result in involvement and re-involvement with the juvenile justice system. These services are an alternative to more formal action with the juvenile justice and education systems and prevent more costly public or private interventions, such as juvenile hall, court, probation, and correctional camps.

Services include:

  • Skill Building
  • Community Service
  • Academic Assistance
  • Agency Referral
  • Counseling
  • Case Management

For the period of July 2010 through June 2011; 1,951 youth were provided with services;
