Beginning January 1, 2014, the Low Income Health Program (LIHP) discontinued as result of the federal Affordable Care Act (ACA).  You may qualify for the new Expanded Medi-Cal Program.  Click here for information on how to apply for the Medi-Cal Program.

Low Income Health Program (LIHP) Transition to Medi-Cal

Some former LIHP enrollees are encountering difficulties in their transition to Medi-Cal.  Some former LIHP enrollees are not showing as eligible on the Medi-Cal Eligibility site.  Others have been assigned to a new primary care provider or are having difficulty filling prescriptions.  If a former LIHP enrollee is experiencing one of these issues, select the appropriate link below and follow the instructions in the form:

Enacted in March 2010, the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, commonly referred to as "Obamacare" provides the framework, policies, regulations and guidelines for implementation of comprehensive health care reform by the states.  The Affordable Care Act will expand access to high-quality affordable insurance and health care.
