LIHP is a program that funds medical care for uninsured adult county residents. LIHP uses a network of community health centers along with hospitals, community physicians, and mental health providers throughout San Diego County to provide health care services.

LIHP Minimum Eligibility Criteria
Individuals may be eligible for LIHP if they meet the minimum eligibility criteria.
Minimum Eligibility Criteria
- Does not meet the Medi-Cal eligibility criteria
- 19 through 64 years of age
- A San Diego County resident
- A US citizen or legal alien with 5 years residency (with some exceptions)
- Meet LIHP financial requirements
There is no property evaluation for LIHP.
How to Apply
You can apply for LIHP at your local HHSA Family Resource Center (FRC).

Benefits CalWIN is our new website where you can find out if you might be eligible to Food Stamps and/or Medi-Cal benefits. You can also begin the LIHP application process by completing an easy online application and submitting electronic copies of your verifications. Simply select the www.benefitscalwin.org link to begin the process and select the Medi-Cal option.

Your application will first be evaluated for Medi-Cal. If you do not meet the Medi-Cal eligibility criteria, your application will automatically be evaluated for LIHP.
