Special message from the Friends of the Encinitas Library:

The Encinitas Library Needs an Automated Handling/Sorting Machine!

Since opening five years ago, the Encinitas Public Library has quickly become a cornerstone of the community, with more than 425,000 visitors in 2012, and nearly 750,000 items checked out! The installation of an Automated Handling/Sorting Machine would be like adding an additional 1.5 library staff members, increasing efficiency and providing staff with more time to spend assisting customers and coordinating essential library programs. An Automated Handling/Sorting Machine checks items in automatically and then sorts them based on the type of item, increasing how quickly items get checked in and back on the shelves for the next customer.

Please consider making a donation to the Friends of the Encinitas Library to help your local library purchase this equipment and improve services to the community.

A variety of recognition opportunities exist, including a prominent plaque on the library wall behind the front desk for gifts over $1,000. Drop off your gift Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. through 4 p.m. at the Friends Bookstore at the Encinitas Library, 540 Cornish Avenue. For more information, visit our website at www.encinitaslibfriends.org or call 760-330-0206.

Thank you for helping the Library continue to inspire, educate and serve our community.
