SAVE MONEY: LEARN TO COUPON AT SAN DIEGO COUNTY LIBRARY
August 23, 2012
Extreme couponing has become a national trend, saving bargain-hunters thousands of dollars a year. Branches across the county are hosting free couponing classes designed to teach attendees how to save money on everyday items. Classes include:
- Wednesday, October 17 at 5 p.m.: 4S Ranch Library, 10433 Reserve Drive
- Saturday, October 20 at 10 a.m.: Encinitas Library, 540 Cornish Dr
- In Spanish: Friday, October 26 at 11 a.m.: Vista Library, 700 Eucalyptus Ave.
Couponing classes are taught by Eleonor Young, a local woman who slashed her grocery bill by 60% and spends less than $300 a month on groceries for her family of three. Attendees will learn where to find coupons and how to use a website that will do most of the work. Young also teaches a new, hassle-free way to organize coupons.
"I enjoy teaching families to coupon for themselves so they can continue to save money week after week," said Young. "It's very easy for me to give a family a bag of groceries that costs me pennies on the dollar, however I feel it is far more valuable to teach them to buy it with coupons like I do so they can continue to provide for their family on a weekly basis."
