Hellhole Canyon Reopens
|
|
For the first time since the October wildfires, Hellhole Canyon Open Space Preserve is open to the public. During a ceremony at the park on Thursday, April 22nd County Supervisor Bill Horn gave a special presentation in recognition of a $40,000 donation from Pardee Homes and the Weyerhaeuser Company Foundation, which significantly commemorated the reopening of the preserve. In addition to reporting by the Union-Tribune and North County Times daily newspapers, local television stations also provided extensive media coverage announcing the park reopening. Approximately 70 people attended this event, including the Friends of Hellhole Canyon, Parks Advisory Committee members, and trail users countywide.
