There are many miles of hiking, biking, and equestrian trails in the County's parks and open space preserves. Some trails offer simple strolls along placid streams; others take you over rugged mountains and isolated valleys. We offer one of the most diverse trail systems in the nation.

View PDF versions of the San Diego County Regional Trail System (8 MB) or specific trails systems for:

Santa Ysabel East and West and Volcan Mountain (55 MB)
Sycamore Canyon and Goodan Ranch, Oakoasis, and El Capitan (59 MB)
Sweetwater Summit (34 MB)
Otay Valley River Park and Tijuana River Valley (49 MB)

Please be aware that the files listed above are very large. A high-speed internet connection is strongly recommended.

Experience San Diego County Trails, a new, comprehensive trail brochure, is now available. A brief description of the trails in nearly 30 parks and preserves offers an exciting variety of trails experiences. Whichever trail you choose, you're sure to enjoy your outdoor adventure on a County park trail.

The full-color brochure is available online in PDF format on this page, and is available in our parks.

For information on scheduled hikes in San Diego County Parks, please look at the program guide.
