Program Guide

Come explore the 340 acres of oak woodland and coastal sage scrub that make up Louis A. Stelzer County Park. This park, the first in Southern California designed for people of all abilities, is full of unexpected discoveries.

Meander down the cool riparian trail and enjoy the year-round spring that bubbles from beneath the boulders. Bring your binoculars to watch the numerous birds found here. Majestic hundred-year-old oak trees provide plenty of shade for your picnic or party in one of the several picnic areas. Two large playgrounds entertain the youngsters, and a horseshoe pit provides fun for all ages. The more adventurous visitor will want to hike to the peak to get a bird's-eye view of the San Diego River watershed.

A reservable picnic area offers total shade from ancient oaks, a double-large barbeque, and a long food table. It?s right next to the playground, so parents can keep a close eye on the children. The area is surfaced in paver stone and the picnic tables seat 50 people.

The ancient cathedral oak provides a natural setting for an unforgettable wedding. For those who want to plan an out-of-the-ordinary party, look to the beautiful rustic log house. Any youth group would be happy campers in the shaded group campground.
