The Department of Parks and Recreation maintains and/or operates many sports facilities throughout the county, including ball fields, courts, gymnasiums, and a roller hockey rink. Below is a list of these facilities with directions and reservation information.


Designated Sports Facilities (***see below)
Organized groups must have a reservation with the Department of Parks and Recreation to use these designated fields described below. Please contact our reservation desk at 858-673-3900 for information on reserving these fields.

Additional Ball Fields
These additional County owned facilities are currently operated by other entities; their contact information is listed/included below.    

  • Cactus (10610 Ashwood St., Lakeside)
  • Fallbrook (2551 Olive Hill Rd., Fallbrook)
  • Lakeside Baseball Park (10030 Marathon Parkway, Lakeside)
    • Directions: Take 67 to Riverford Exit, go north on Riverford Rd. Turn west onto Mast Blvd. and go to Marathon Pkwy.
    • Hours: 9:30 a.m. to sundown daily. *** SEC. 41.102. Definitions
(c) "Designated sports facility" means a baseball field, soccer field, basketball court, tennis court, hockey rink, volleyball court, bocce ball court, or other park sports facility that the Parks Department has posted as requiring a reservation when used by certain groups.

SEC. 41.124. Use of designated sports facilities by certain groups.
In order to provide a shared use of some highly desirable park sports facilities, between members of the community and groups that need a regulation field for league play or other organized sports activity, no person, as a member of a club, association, organization, company, league or organized team, shall use a designated sports facility in a County park for practice or games without written authorization from the Parks Department.
