In addition to Steering Committee meetings, MSCP staff has held several public meetings for interested citizens, community groups, public agencies, and tribes in the East County Study Area. Meetings that were held to provide an overview of the upcoming plan and the process are as follows:

- Community Open House Summary and Presentation (May 25, 2005)
- Descanso Community Planning Group (September 15, 2005)
- Palomar Mountain Planning Organization (October 8, 2005)
- Julian Community Planning Group (October 10, 2005)
- East County Tribal Nations (November 9, 2005)
- Campo/Lake Morena Community Planning Group (November 28, 2005)
MSCP staff plan to conduct additional meetings once a draft preserve plan is developed. In addition, an environmental impact report/statement will be prepared, which will allow for additional public review.
